Anti-RIM antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target RIM is a known alias name of the protein regulating synaptic membrane exocytosis 1, encoded by the RIMS1 gene in humans. This 1692-amino acid residue protein is known to be a Rab effector involved in exocytosis (By similarity). It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in melanocytes.
