Anti-proX antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the proX antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PDHX gene, which encodes pyruvate dehydrogenase complex component X. This protein is known to be required for anchoring dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase (E3) to the dihydrolipoamide transacetylase (E2) core of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complexes of eukaryotes. The human version of proX has a canonical amino acid length of 501 residues and a protein mass of 54.1 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include DLDBP, E3BP, and OPDX. Western Blot is the most common application for the proX antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
