Anti-PNAS8 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PNAS8 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TRAM1 gene, which encodes translocation associated membrane protein 1. This protein is reported to be involved in translocation of nascent protein chains into or through the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane by facilitating the proper chain positioning at the SEC61 channel. The human version of PNAS8 has a canonical amino acid length of 374 residues and a protein mass of 43.1 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the cervix and colon. PNAS8 is a member of the TRAM protein family.
