Anti-MALSU1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitochondrial assembly of ribosomal large subunit 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 234 amino acid residues and a mass of 26.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Iojap/RsfS protein family, MALSU1 is reported to be required for normal mitochondrial ribosome function and mitochondrial translation. Synonyms for this target antigen include mitochondrial assembly of ribosomal large subunit protein 1. MALSU1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some MALSU1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
