Anti-LPC antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The LPC antigen is another term for the human protein proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 7, encoded by the PCSK7 gene. The protein is reported to be a serine endoprotease that processes various proproteins by cleavage at paired basic amino acids, recognizing the RXXX[KR]R consensus motif. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 785 residues and a mass of 86.2 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the Golgi and it is reported to be expressed in spleen, thymus, prostate, testis, ovary, small intestine, colon and peripheral blood leukocyte. The LPC protein is a member of the Peptidase S8 protein family. Other alias names for LPC include PC7. Indicated applications for LPC antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
