Anti-prsA antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target prsA is a known alias name of the protein glutaredoxin 5, encoded by the GLRX5 gene in humans. This 157-amino acid residue protein is known to be a monothiol glutaredoxin involved in mitochondrial iron-sulfur (Fe/S) cluster transfer. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for prsA include C14orf87, FLB4739, and GRX5.
