Anti-PH1 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The PH1 antigen is another term for the human protein alanine--glyoxylate aminotransferase, encoded by the AGXT gene. The protein is reported to be a peroxisomal aminotransferase that catalyzes the transamination of glyoxylate to glycine and contributes to the glyoxylate detoxification. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 392 residues and a mass of 43 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the peroxisomes and it is notably expressed in the liver. The PH1 protein is a member of the Class-V pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase protein family. Other alias names for PH1 include AGT, AGT1, and AGXT1.
