Anti-MTHFC antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MTHFC antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MTHFD1 gene, which encodes methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase, cyclohydrolase and formyltetrahydrofolate synthetase 1. This protein is known to function in cardiac tissue development, among other biological roles. The human version of MTHFC has a canonical amino acid length of 935 residues and a protein mass of 101.5 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include CIMAH and MTHFD.
