Anti-p55-GAMMA antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target p55-GAMMA is a known alias name of the protein phosphoinositide-3-kinase regulatory subunit 3, encoded by the PIK3R3 gene in humans. This 461-amino acid residue protein is known to bind to activated (phosphorylated) protein-tyrosine kinases through its SH2 domain and regulates their kinase activity. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the brain and testis. Other synonyms for p55-GAMMA include p55 and p55PIK. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for p55-GAMMA antibodies.
