Anti-PCDH-GAMMA-C5 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PCDH-GAMMA-C5 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PCDHGC5 gene, which encodes protocadherin gamma subfamily C, 5. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion and the regulation of apoptosis, among other biological roles. The human version of PCDH-GAMMA-C5 has a canonical amino acid length of 944 residues and a protein mass of 101.9 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the hippocampus, cerebral cortex, and caudate.
