Anti-NPH2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the NPH2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NXPH2 gene, which encodes neurexophilin 2. This protein is believed to be signaling molecules that resemble neuropeptides and that act by binding to alpha-neurexins and possibly other receptors. The human version of NPH2 has a canonical amino acid length of 264 residues and a protein mass of 29.9 kilodaltons. It is reported to be a secreted protein that is notably expressed in the hippocampus and kidney. NPH2 is a member of the Neurexophilin protein family.
