Anti-NHERF4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein NHERF family PDZ scaffold protein 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 571 amino acid residues and a mass of 61 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and cytoplasm. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in the kidney and the gastrointestinal tract. NHERF4 is known to act as a regulatory protein that associates with GUCY2C and negatively modulates its heat-stable enterotoxin-mediated activation. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include Na(+)/H(+) exchange regulatory cofactor 4, PDZ domain containing 3, PDZ domain-containing protein 2, PDZ domain-containing protein 3, and Na(+)/H(+) exchange regulatory cofactor NHE-RF4. Western Blot is the most common application for the NHERF4 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
