Anti-NC-NOS antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the NC-NOS antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NOS1 gene, which encodes nitric oxide synthase 1. This protein is known to function in the transport of ions, among other biological roles. The human version of NC-NOS has a canonical amino acid length of 1434 residues and a protein mass of 161 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the kidney, hippocampus, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and caudate. Other names for this target antigen include IHPS1, N-NOS, and NC-NOS. Some NC-NOS antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
