Anti-MuD antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MuD antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the AP5M1 gene, which encodes adaptor related protein complex 5 subunit mu 1. This protein is known to function in protein transport and vesicle-mediated transport, among other biological roles. The human version of MuD has a canonical amino acid length of 490 residues and a protein mass of 54.8 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane, lysosomes and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. MuD is a member of the Adaptor complexes medium subunit protein family.
