Anti-MYH2a antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MYH2a antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MYH2 gene, which encodes myosin heavy chain 2. This protein is known to function in muscle contraction, among other biological roles. The human version of MYH2a has a canonical amino acid length of 1941 residues and a protein mass of 223 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the skeletal muscle. Other names for this target antigen include CMYP6 and IBM3. Indicated applications for MYH2a antibodies listed below include Western Blot.
