Anti-MAM6 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MAM6 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MUC1 gene, which encodes mucin 1, cell surface associated. This protein is known to function in DNA damage pathways and the regulation of apoptosis, among other biological roles. The human version of MAM6 has a canonical amino acid length of 1255 residues and a protein mass of 122.1 kilodaltons, although 17 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include ADMCKD, ADMCKD1, and ADTKD2. A number of MAM6 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Western Blot are also common applications.
