Anti-LOSK antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the LOSK antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SLK gene, which encodes STE20 like kinase. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and protein phosphorylation, among other biological roles. The human version of LOSK has a canonical amino acid length of 1235 residues and a protein mass of 142.7 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the breast, testis, and adrenal gland. This target antigen may also be known as STK2.
