Anti-HMGIC/NFIB antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the HMGIC/NFIB antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NFIB gene, which encodes nuclear factor I B. This protein is known to function in brain development and chondrocyte differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of HMGIC/NFIB has a canonical amino acid length of 420 residues and a protein mass of 47.4 kilodaltons, although 6 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include CTF and MACID.
