Anti-hap2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target hap2 is a known alias name of the protein huntingtin associated protein 1, encoded by the HAP1 gene in humans. This 671-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in autophagy pathways and brain development, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the brain.
