Anti-FON antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target FON is a known alias name of the protein zinc finger HIT-type containing 2, encoded by the ZNHIT2 gene in humans. This 403-amino acid residue protein is believed to act as a bridging factor mediating the interaction between the R2TP/Prefoldin-like (R2TP/PFDL) complex and U5 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (U5 snRNP). Other synonyms for FON include C11orf5 and zinc finger HIT domain-containing protein 2.
