Anti-MEL-CSPG antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The MEL-CSPG antigen is another term for the human protein chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan 4, encoded by the CSPG4 gene. The protein is known to function in angiogenesis and intracellular signal transduction, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 2322 residues and a mass of 250.5 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and it is notably expressed in fibroblasts. Other alias names for MEL-CSPG include CSPG4A, HMW-MAA, and MCSP. Western Blot is the most common application for the MEL-CSPG antibodies listed below. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
