Anti-MCMDC2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein minichromosome maintenance domain containing 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 681 amino acid residues and a mass of 76.2 kDa. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. MCMDC2 is known to play an important role in meiotic recombination and associated DNA double-strand break repair. Synonyms for this target antigen include MCM domain-containing protein 2, MCM domain-containing protein C8orf45, and minichromosome maintenance domain-containing protein 2. MCMDC2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the MCMDC2 antibodies listed below. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
