Anti-EMC3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ER membrane protein complex subunit 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 261 amino acid residues and a mass of 30 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the EMC3 protein family, EMC3 is known to be a part of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein complex (EMC) that enables the energy-independent insertion into endoplasmic reticulum membranes of newly synthesized membrane proteins. Synonyms for this target antigen include partial optokinetic response b, transmembrane protein 111, and 30 kDa protein. EMC3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of EMC3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Flow Cytometry are also common applications.
