Anti-L-CPT1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target L-CPT1 is a known alias name of the protein carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1A, encoded by the CPT1A gene in humans. This 773-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the transfer of the acyl group of long-chain fatty acid-CoA conjugates onto carnitine, an essential step for the mitochondrial uptake of long-chain fatty acids and their subsequent beta-oxidation in the mitochondrion. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the kidney and heart, and lower in the liver and skeletal muscle. Other synonyms for L-CPT1 include CPT1, CPT1-L, and L-CPT1. Western Blot is the most common application for the L-CPT1 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
