Anti-JI antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the JI antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TNC gene, which encodes tenascin C. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion and osteoblast differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of JI has a canonical amino acid length of 2201 residues and a protein mass of 240.9 kilodaltons, although 6 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the extracellular matrix and is secreted of cells. Other names for this target antigen include 150-225, DFNA56, and GMEM.
