Anti-HSDB3 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target HSDB3 is a known alias name of the protein hydroxy-delta-5-steroid dehydrogenase, 3 beta- and steroid delta-isomerase 1, encoded by the HSD3B1 gene in humans. This 373-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in brain development, among other biological processes. It is localized to the mitochondria and ER of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in the placenta and testis. Other synonyms for HSDB3 include 3BETAHSD, 3BETAHSD, and HSD3B.
