Anti-HCAD antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target HCAD is a known alias name of the protein caldesmon 1, encoded by the CALD1 gene in humans. This 793-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in angiogenesis, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the endometrium and ovary. The term CDM is another synonym for HCAD. Western Blot is the most common application for the HCAD antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
