Anti-PDLIM1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein PDZ and LIM domain 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 329 amino acid residues and a mass of 36.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is reported to be highly expressed in the heart and skeletal muscle, moderately expressed in the spleen, small intestine, colon, placenta, and lung. PDLIM1 is reported to be a cytoskeletal protein that may act as an adapter that brings other proteins (like kinases) to the cytoskeleton.
The PDLIM1 marker can be used to identify Early Megakaryocytes (MK) and Cortical Thymic Epithelial Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include CLP-36, CLP36, HEL-S-112, hCLIM1, PDZ and LIM domain protein 1, and CLIM1. PDLIM1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of PDLIM1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
