Anti-GCD10 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the GCD10 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TRMT6 gene, which encodes tRNA methyltransferase 6 non-catalytic subunit. This protein is reported to be a substrate-binding subunit of tRNA (adenine-N(1)-)-methyltransferase, which catalyzes the formation of N(1)-methyladenine at position 58 (m1A58) in initiator methionyl-tRNA. The human version of GCD10 has a canonical amino acid length of 497 residues and a protein mass of 55.8 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. GCD10 is a member of the TRM6/GCD10 protein family.
