Anti-HIP3 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target HIP3 is a known alias name of the protein huntingtin interacting protein 1 related, encoded by the HIP1R gene in humans. This 1068-amino acid residue protein is known to be a component of clathrin-coated pits and vesicles, that may link the endocytic machinery to the actin cytoskeleton. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types.
