Anti-GAT4 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target GAT4 is a known alias name of the protein solute carrier family 6 member 11, encoded by the SLC6A11 gene in humans. This 632-amino acid residue protein is known to mediate sodium- and chloride-dependent transport of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be widely expressed in the brain. Other synonyms for GAT4 include GAT-3 and GAT3. Indicated applications for GAT4 antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
