Anti-MAYP antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MAYP antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PSTPIP2 gene, which encodes proline-serine-threonine phosphatase interacting protein 2. This protein is known to bind to F-actin. The human version of MAYP has a canonical amino acid length of 334 residues and a protein mass of 38.9 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bone marrow and colon.
