Anti-LGMD2 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The LGMD2 antigen is another term for the human protein calpain 3, encoded by the CAPN3 gene. The protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and muscle organ development, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 821 residues and a mass of 94.3 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm and it is expressed in the skeletal muscle. The LGMD2 protein is a member of the Peptidase C2 protein family. Other alias names for LGMD2 include CANP3 and CANPL3. These LGMD2 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
