Anti-MADA antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MADA is a known alias name of the protein adenosine monophosphate deaminase 1, encoded by the AMPD1 gene in humans. This 747-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in metabolic processes, among other biological processes. It is reported to be expressed in the skeletal muscle. The term MAD is another synonym for MADA. Immunohistochemistry is the most common application for the MADA antibodies listed below. ELISA and Western Blot are also common applications.
