Anti-LUCA-3 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the LUCA-3 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the HYAL3 gene, which encodes hyaluronidase 3. This protein is known to function in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis and cartilage development, among other biological roles. The human version of LUCA-3 has a canonical amino acid length of 417 residues and a protein mass of 46.5 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles, ER, cell membrane, and is secreted of cells. LUCA-3 is a member of the Glycosyl hydrolase 56 protein family.
