Anti-LAS antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the LAS antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the LIAS gene, which encodes lipoic acid synthetase. This protein is known to function in inflammatory response pathways and the response to oxidative stress, among other biological roles. The human version of LAS has a canonical amino acid length of 372 residues and a protein mass of 41.9 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the cerebral cortex, thyroid gland, and cerebellum. LAS is a member of the Lipoyl synthase protein family. Indicated applications for LAS antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
