Anti-MEMO antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MEMO antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MEMO1 gene, which encodes mediator of cell motility 1. This protein is believed to control cell migration by relaying extracellular chemotactic signals to the microtubule cytoskeleton. The human version of MEMO has a canonical amino acid length of 297 residues and a protein mass of 33.7 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include C2orf4 and CGI-27.
