Anti-JOS antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target JOS is a known alias name of the protein ataxin 3, encoded by the ATXN3 gene in humans. This 361-amino acid residue protein is known to be a deubiquitinating enzyme involved in protein homeostasis maintenance, transcription, cytoskeleton regulation, myogenesis and degradation of misfolded chaperone substrates. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell and features ubiquitinated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for JOS include AT3 and ATX3. Western Blot is the most common application for the JOS antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
