Anti-IGIP antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein IgA inducing protein. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 53 amino acid residues and a mass of 5.9 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Synonyms for this target antigen include IgA-inducing protein homolog and IgA-inducing protein homolog (Bos taurus). IGIP gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for the IGIP antibodies listed below. In addition, Immunofluorescence is also a common application.
