Anti-KDM8 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein lysine demethylase 8. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 416 amino acid residues and a mass of 47.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be weakly expressed in most cells. KDM8 is reported to be a bifunctional enzyme that acts both as an endopeptidase and 2-oxoglutarate-dependent monooxygenase. Synonyms for this target antigen include JmjC arginyl-hydroxylase, L-arginine (3R)-hydroxylase KDM8, arginyl C3-hydroxylase KDM8, jmjC domain-containing protein 5, and bifunctional peptidase and arginyl-hydroxylase JMJD5.
