Anti-IRF7A antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target IRF7A is a known alias name of the protein interferon regulatory factor 7, encoded by the IRF7 gene in humans. This 503-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in viral immune response and DNA damage pathways, among other biological processes. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated, sumoylated, acetylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in spleen, thymus and peripheral blood leukocytes. Other synonyms for IRF7A include IMD39 and IRF-7H.
