This target is a reported synonym of the METTL18 gene, which encodes methyltransferase 18, RPL3 N3(tau)-histidine. This protein is reported to be a Protein-L-histidine N-tele-methyltransferase that specifically monomethylates RPL3, thereby regulating translation elongation. The human version of HPM1 has a canonical amino acid length of 372 residues and a protein mass of 42.1 kilodaltons.
