Anti-hK6 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The hK6 antigen is another term for the human protein kallikrein related peptidase 6, encoded by the KLK6 gene. The protein is reported to be a serine protease, which exhibits a preference for Arg over Lys in the substrate P1 position and for Ser or Pro in the P2 position. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 244 residues and a mass of 26.9 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus, mitochondria, cytoplasm, and is secreted. The hK6 protein is a member of the Peptidase S1 protein family. Other alias names for hK6 include Bssp, Klk7, and PRSS18. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for hK6 antibodies.
