Anti-INO1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the INO1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ISYNA1 gene, which encodes inositol-3-phosphate synthase 1. This protein is known to be a key enzyme in myo-inositol biosynthesis pathway that catalyzes the conversion of glucose 6-phosphate to 1-myo-inositol 1-phosphate in a NAD-dependent manner. The human version of INO1 has a canonical amino acid length of 558 residues and a protein mass of 61.1 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the fallopian tube and kidney. Other names for this target antigen include INOS and IPS.
