Anti-GPRP-2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the GPRP-2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the GPX2 gene, which encodes glutathione peroxidase 2. This protein is known to function in the response to oxidative stress, among other biological roles. The human version of GPRP-2 has a canonical amino acid length of 190 residues and a protein mass of 22 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the duodenum and kidney. Other names for this target antigen include GI-GPx, GPRP, and GPRP-2.
