Anti-GBG antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target GBG is a known alias name of the protein complement factor B, encoded by the CFB gene in humans. This 764-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a Factor B, which is part of the alternate pathway of the complement system is cleaved by factor D into 2 fragments: Ba and Bb. The protein is secreted and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. Other synonyms for GBG include AHUS4, ARMD14, and BF. Western Blot is the most common application for the GBG antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
