Anti-CAII antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CAII is a known alias name of the protein carbonic anhydrase 2, encoded by the CA2 gene in humans. This 260-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. It is localized to the cell membrane and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the appendix and caudate. The term CAC is another synonym for CAII. Western Blot is the most common application for the CAII antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
