Anti-ERFAD antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the ERFAD antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FOXRED2 gene, which encodes FAD dependent oxidoreductase domain containing 2. This protein is a suspected flavoprotein which may function in endoplasmic reticulum associated degradation (ERAD). The human version of ERFAD has a canonical amino acid length of 684 residues and a protein mass of 77.8 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. ERFAD is a member of the FOXRED2 protein family.
