Anti-dhea-st antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target dhea-st is a known alias name of the protein sulfotransferase family 2A member 1, encoded by the SULT2A1 gene in humans. This 285-amino acid residue protein is a reported sulfotransferase that utilizes 3'-phospho-5'-adenylyl sulfate (PAPS) as sulfonate donor to catalyze the sulfonation of steroids and bile acids in the liver and adrenal glands. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in the stomach, small intestine, liver, duodenum, and adrenal gland. Other synonyms for dhea-st include DHEA-ST8 and DHEAS. Some dhea-st antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
