Anti-CYP5 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CYP5 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TBXAS1 gene, which encodes thromboxane A synthase 1. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of CYP5 has a canonical amino acid length of 533 residues and a protein mass of 60.5 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the kidney and lung. Other names for this target antigen include BDPLT14 and CYP5A1. Western Blot is the most common application for the CYP5 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
